Appliances in Czech, and Europe, operate on 220-volt current and plugged into two-pronged outlets. Visitors from UK (240-volt) and US (110-volt) should buy adapters and transformers prior to their trips as these things are harder to find and cost much more in Czech. Without a transformer, you will likely ruin your appliances and possibly start a fire.

Laptop, cell phones or modern electronic gadgets generally work with a wide range of voltage currents, thus do not require a transformer. However, always double check.
