Internet cafe is becoming a trend in Europe. They are everywhere in Europe, even in smalller cities. Choose locations further away from the center for cheaper rates. If you need to access the Internet often while traveling, then ask the hotels or hostels you plan to staty if they have Internet access. Many of them provide free Internet for guests or charge lower fees. There are also phone booths where you can surf and check emails. (I saw one at the main train station in Vienna) I never needed the phonebooth and don't plan on using one, but it might come in handy for you sometime.
Sometime you can find free Internet access from public libraries and the British Council.

- Fuzion Cafe - Prague 1, Wencelas Square; Metro: Muztek, Muzeum. Free WIFI. My most favorite coffee shop. I normally stayed upstairs to avoid distraction. Have a small lunch salad and sandwich bar which come with discounts after 5 pm. The staff are very nice, some of whom can understand English. It has a nice interior and warm environment. Majority of visitors are foreigners.

- Internet Caffe Ocean - Jugoslavska 10. Prague 2; Email: internetcaffeocean@seznam.cz; Hours: Mon-Sun, 9am - 10pm; Metro: IP Pavlova (C line). Have a separate computer room. Charge is 35 Kc per hour. There coffee area was very small with only 6 two-person tables. The cashier (he didn't speak much English) said the place had wifii but I wasn't able to get on, so he lent me an Ethernet cable. Seemed to me that this place was designed with Internet users in mind. There were 5 pairs of hubs and electric sockets at each table. The prices on the menu were cheaper than most cafes in the center. The is not a fancy cafe bar, but it does the job.
