Ivana Trump
Written by cd on January 4, 2007 – 10:42 pm -I knew her name only because she was once married to the Donald, a.ka. Donald Trump.
When I heard her name for the first time, she was divorcing Donald. The divorce settlement went sour. Aren’t all celebrities’ divorces? Donald Trump declared bankruptcy with 900 millions dollars in debt.
I haven’t heard anything about Donald Trump until a few years ago this real estate king exploded on television with the reality hit “Apprentice,” which is now on its 5th season. At about the same time, to share a ride on the Trump’s phenomenon, FOX aired “Ivana Young Man,” a reality show hosted by Ivana Trump. In this show, she helps an older but rich woman finding love in young male contestants.
So why I blog about Ivana?
Michael, a contestant from Apprentice 3, compared himself to the Donald during one of his interviews. He claimed Donald marries Eastern European women and he only dated Eastern European women.
That got me thinking that Ivana is Russian until I found out today she is Czech.
Her being Czech surprised me a little bit, but her background shocked me the most. Up to this moment, I always thought Ivana was some blonde bimbo who hooked up with a rich man and got lucky afterward. Did you know she was a world-classed skiers during her teens, coached skiing, and spent sometime doing businesses in Canada before she made it to American celebrity scenes.
Sometimes first impression can be deceiving.

Pavel Nedved gave Chelsea a no-no
Written by cd on October 15, 2006 – 5:14 am -
This Czech football star snubbed an offer from one of the best football clubs, Chelsea, to stick out with his teammates at Juventus. There is nothing new about football players accepting and rejecting offers as this is a common thing in the football industry. However, what make Pavel Nedved’s case special is his team, Juventus, belongs to the second division at the moment after getting 30-point deduction for its role in the recent Italian football match-fixing scandal.
After the official verdict, rumors spread about the possibility of many high-profile players in demoted teams would leave for other clubs to protect their career. At the time, I couldn’t help but wonder how Juventus could ever manage to return to the first division if all is best players leave. I don’t follow football anymore but Juventus used to be my favorite team while growing up because my favorite football player, Roberto Baggio, played there. Fortunately for Juventus, it has ones of the best players in the world not only of pure talent but also admirable sportsmanship. As Nedved said:
However, I felt that I couldn’t leave Juventus[sig] in such a difficult moment. I made up my mind after the first verdict, which handed us the 30-point deduction.
Two other best players also stay, two of whom are Alex Del Piero and Gianluigi Buffon, the best goal keeper in the world.
I never liked the Czech national team. In fact, I wished so much for them to lose during the World Cup so my two favorites, USA and Italy could advance. But if the Czech team has a few more players like Nedved, I’ll change my mind in a split second.
