Czech Press Photo Exhibition was brought about to:

“Brings authentic picture report about life, the way it is seen, home or abroad, by photojournalists with permanent residency in Czech or Slovak Republic. The purpose of the competition and the exhibition - which have been organized on annual basis since 1995 - is to allow the public to become direct witness of the events that took place during the previous year. At the same time it is to motivate photographers in their daily routine work to use more personal approach and thus to stimulate the development of photography as a medium.”
