Don’t fool yourself
That i hold you in my heart
I’ll never be your lover
Today tonight tomorrow
I’ll never give myself to you
I’ll never give my body to you

You suffer from delusions
Denying your emotion
You don’t even realise
That you’re in love with me now
As sure as the sun shall rise
I know god will make you mine

I’d rather turn myself
Into a little squirrel
And run across high branches
To get away from you
I’ll never give myself to you
I’ll never give my body to you

And i will get my sharp axe
From my little woodshed
And cut down those branches
And you will fall to my arms
As sure as the sun shall rise
I know god will make you mine

And i will turn myself
Into the brightest star
Yes i will shine for people -
For you i’m always too far
I’ll never give myself to you
I’ll never give my body to you

And i will find an astrologer
To look across the night sky
And when i find that bright star
I know you will wonder why
As sure as the sun shall rise
I know god will make you mine.

Film: Once - How many times you meet the right one in your life (2007)

Written by cd on December 5, 2007 – 4:30 pm -

The year’s best musical Indie film strives to answer the ultimate question pondered by many of us:  “How many time you meet the right one in your life?”
“He fixes her vacuum cleaner (his day job is working in his fathers repair shop) and makes a half-hearted, bluntly rejected pass. But while there is an evident spark of attraction between them Ms. Irglovas teasing directness works beautifully with Mr. Hansards shuffling sincerity Once is far from a conventional love story. It is, instead, the story of a creative partnership that develops by chance and that involves a deeper, riskier bond than mere sex ever could.”
Glen Hansard, the main singer/actor who plays himself, has a Czech friend whose daughter, Market Irgovlova, plays the young Czech immigrant in the movie. They first met when she was only a 12 years old kid who played piano to accompany his songs. One of her many questions to him during this period that people should have written songs based on their own experiences was adapted into the film’s story plot as well.

“Once” was shot under two weeks with a budget of $160,000 and has racks over 10 millions as of date and featured in commercial cinemas worldwide.

Movie Soundtrack
“Falling Slowly” - He strums the guitar, she plays the piano, and both sing this song during lunch time at a piano shop which is the only time and the only place she can play on the piano.

“If you want me” - Late at night, dressed in her pijama and bunny slippers the girl walks to a neighborhood convenient store to buy batteries for the CD player he gave her so that she could listen and write the lyrics for a song he thought too romantic for his taste. Her frail voice resonates from streets after streets, passing figures to figures.

“When your mind made up” - In this movie’s climax, he finally gathers a made-shift band and records his first demo at a music studio.
