Travel Asia Blog
Written by cd on July 29, 2007 – 10:06 am -Last week, my co-worker and I discussed about possible travel destination in Asia. This man wanted adventures, going to weird places and eating “ew!” food.
For example, do you know what Chinese eat in Guangzhou, a coastal city near Hong Kong and Macau? If you watch the American reality show “Fear Factor,” you will see contestants eating “nasty” exotic cuisine: chicken feet, worms, cow testicles, monkey brain and deer penis to name a few. If these show contestants spit, puke and faint for having to eat these “disgusting” things, Chinese and other Asians chow down these specialties as their regular diets.
How about one of the new 7 Wonders of the World, Taj Mahal. Asia Hotel’s blog shares with you the scoop about this architectural masterpiece from India, a life work of a romantic emperor whose love for his beloved wife is was beyond words.

Jan Hus’ Days
Written by cd on July 6, 2007 – 4:02 pm -July 5 and 6 are Jan Hus’ days as this founder of the Hussites movement was burned at the stake in Konstance, Germany. He was tricked by the Catholic Church to come out of his hiding and travel to there.
Many remember Martin Luther, the German Church reformer for starting the chain of events leading to the establishment of Protestantism in Europe. However it was Jan Hus and his teach which inspired the great German Martin Luther.
Jan Hus’ status is located in the middle of the Old Town’s Square. Ironically, surrounding him are Catholic figures.
