Bata is an international shoe company found by Thomas Bata in the Czech Republic in 19xx. After returning from America, Bata introduced the America’s car assembly style to his shoe production. This smart move quickly expand his business, however put him in direct conflict with traditional shoemakers who only produce shoes on demand.

Being a savvy capitalist, Bata was also a great philanthropist; he introduced many social benefits to his employees which not seen at the time, which were housing and health care. If you go to Zlin, a city central Moravia, will see the former Bata’s neighborhood.

Bata Company was moved to Canada after the Communist took over the country in 1948. Currently, Bata is still a family-owned company with stores and factories all over the world.

All my shoes have never pass the $30 price tag except for two occasions. But I may make another exception at this time. By the time I leave the Czech Republic, I should own a pair of Bata shoes.
